Inquisitor Warband

Hi guys,

The idea for an inquisitor warband for Necromunda has triggered me for some time. I always liked the looks and the variety of these models, and it seemed so cool to field a handful of these characters into the domes of the Underhive. The starting band is composed of an inquisitor, a rogue trader, a possessed, an acolyte and a Deathwatch space marine.

Hope you like it.

Necromunda AAR - The Raid - Escher vs Spyrers

After being completely thrashed in an ambush by the Eschers, we played a raid scenario where the infamous girls were the attackers. My Spyrers had to defend a generator that contained some archeotech. The skirmish was set in a dome that contained long shadows, enabling models to run and hide in the same turn. The Eschers also had two infiltrators in their gang, perfect to engage my sentries in a quick manner.

An infiltrated Anita charged the surprised Saïsha theYakara.  She could parry her assailant and survive the attack.

At the same time, another infiltration charge occurred.  Spirit, the Ratskin, also failed to win the engagement. Both sentries alerted, the alarm broke out.

On top of the central building, the Spyrers taking position.

On a lower level the fight continued. Anita will be put out of combat and left knocked out on the ground.

Renée, the Eschers heavy aimed and hit the objective with a frag missile, wounding the Yeld in the process. Luckily for him, he could take a blow and was only pinned. After the smoke cleared, the generator was unscathed.

Nikita fired her lasgun to the coriaceous Yeld, but he took only a light wound.

Argus stood directly on his feet and returned fire. Under suppression, the Escher had to dive for cover.

Rihanna failed her bolter shots on the other side. Things were not going as predicted for the Eschers.

Kira, the gang leader, had went trough ventilation shafts and appeared on top of the central building.

Her automatic pistol shots did hit the Malcadon. Dodging for the bullets he did fall two storeys lower.
Kira saw the rest of the Spyrer gang coming close for revenge. She did opt to live another day and fleed through the vents she came in, leaving the victory to the hunters from the Spyre.

Pit Slave + Ratskin

Well needed reinforcements for my Goliath gang

Krill Dozer the pit slave

Mohik Khan the Ratskin

Battles in the Underhive - Escape Route

This scenario represents a failed ambush attempt by the Burger Boys, where the defending Valkyries spot the ambush before the trap is set and try to escape through the opposite table edge (published in Gang War issue 5). Here are the highlights.

Kira and her gangers spot a few muscled boys hidden in nearby ruins. They rush towards the exit point to leave the dome.

Kor Nedbeef lets speak his heavy stubber in the direction of the grouped enemies, hitting two ladies in the process.

Chuck Undips, the juve, crossfires the Eschers from behind. More girls hit the dust.

Noamie and Anette try another escape route but are trapped by Freak Adle and his handflamer. A nasty surprise but the girls manage to avoid the flame burst in time.

Some of the Valkyries used the ventilation shafts to enter the battle, they do not hesitate to rain down bullets from above on the Burger Boys. The ambushers turn to be ambushed.

In the Underhive, one deadly shot can make the difference. Faye fires her shotgun loaded with man-killer shells towards Burger King. The gang leader doesn't survive this deadly hit. Seeing their leader falling from the walkways, the Boys bottle out as fast as they came.

Goliath gang finished + hired guns

The Burger Boys are finally done. I was missing 2 juves to complete my roster. This versatile gang focuses on heavy muscle and heavy weaponry.  For future expansions, I painted up some hired guns to add variety into the game: a well known bounty hunter and a pyromaniac wyrd.

The "Burger Boys" in all their splendor !

The pyromaniac wyrd : a psychic who played too much with firecrackers when he was a young boy.

"Kal Consto" : a retired Arbites who turned up as a bounty hunter in the Underhive.

One building more

These are so easy to make. As I have the wall parts already cast from various ct-S kits, I just concentrate on the platforms. Using spray cans for the painting, add some rusty effects and here you are.

Hope you enjoy.

Necromunda - Escher juves - Goliath heavy - ruins

The urge to play a Necromunda game starts to grow a lot. I'm in the final stages of finishing of the two gangs. I painted up two juves for the Escher gang and my heavy for the Burger Boys. A new construction was also completed. Hope you enjoy.

The Underhive - First Buildings

The key to a good Necromunda game resides in a lot of constructions on the tabletop. To have a little change from painting minis, I putted an Outpost together from ct-S and made a first more Necromundan-style industrial construction. You can also see some gigantic mushrooms, who will make great cover for the gangers. Hope you like it.

Escher Gang - gangsters

Some extra models for X-Tine's Escher gang. Most of her emancipated ladies are orientated towards close combat. There will be no heavies, so the starting gang emphases on numbers.

Amazon power !

The Burger Boys - a Goliath gang

I've always had a certain affinity for the brutal Goliaths. They were my favorite gang in the old times (15 years ago, ough) and were called the "Burger Boys"; a mean group of warriors under the leadership of Burger King causing mayhem anywhere they traveled in the underhive. They needed a repaint. Here's the result.

What d'ya think? Do they look mean enough to you?

Starting an Escher gang

Some time ago, we had seen some nice painted Escher models on the "Tale of Painters" blog. This remembered the great times we had with the Necromunda game and the idea came to start a new campaign. We opened our models-box in search of our old gangs. Looking at them, we concluded that a repaint was absolutely needed and a little bit of conversion. Here's the final result for the first three. Hope you like them.
